Axing, probably the coolest part of the spoon-carving process whilst also being the most difficult to do safely and efficiently. I personally LOVE axing out spoons, when i was starting off id just axe out loads and loads of blanks to get the practise in, it was such a good way of getting the muscle memory. after axing out multiple spoons everyday for going on 6 years i know a thing or two about axing! If you'd like to get to grips with axing or fine tune parts of your process then this workshop is definitely for you.
well go over the ENTIRE axing process from splitting out your billet right the way through to axed out blank. ill even go over sharpening your axe and " axe anatomy " so that you can go home with the skills to fine tune your own axe or to shop around for a tool that suits you perfectly (:
anyone of any skill level would benefit from this 10-5 workshop. Lunch included.
