Alder Eater

This eating spoon is carved from alder.  The bowl is round and deep, giving it a generous feel and a good scoop for soups etc 

The form is simple — a smooth transition from bowl to handle, with no sharp edges or fuss. Alder shapes easily and takes detail well, and you can see that here in the clean curves and subtle tool marks.

Made entirely by hand using traditional edge tools. Light in the hand, easy in use, and quietly balanced.

Oiled with tung oil ( food safe )
